Wesley is a multifaceted craftsperson, embodying the roles of a woodworker, carver, instructor, and creator.

Originally from the small town of Goshen, Indiana, Wesley grew up in an environment that valued and encouraged creativity. While serving in the United States Air Force for six years, he found himself stationed in interior Alaska, it was there he discovered a folk school in 2017.

Wesley's wood carvings have been shaped by the principles of the folk school philosophy, which emphasize hands-on lifelong learning, community, and personal growth. He is dedicated to improving his craft while also connecting with the larger community, sharing his passion of making, while strengthening his bond with the natural world. His work draws inspiration from the beauty of Scandinavian folkcraft and the concept of sloyd, which focuses on handcrafted items.

Wesley's teaching experience includes instructing at the Fairbanks Folk School and North House Folk School where he interned in 2021 and is currently an instructor and a resident artisan.
